Terms of Service

1. The service

The Downsize Board is a local classifieds board. It provides the infrastructure for people to post listings and contact each other; it is not a party to any transaction between users and does not hold money on behalf of buyers or sellers.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. Your account may be suspended or banned for abuse, fraud, or violation of these terms.

3. Listings

You are solely responsible for the listings you post. Listings must be truthful, must not describe items you do not own or have authority to sell, and must not be used to advertise services or activities prohibited by law. We may remove or flag any listing that we reasonably believe violates these terms.

4. Fees and credits

Publishing an active listing consumes one posting credit unless a subscription is active. Credits and subscriptions are personal to your account and are non-transferable. Purchases are processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms. We may grant, adjust, or revoke credits at our discretion (for example, to correct errors or to reward referrals).

5. Prohibited content and conduct

You may not post illegal goods, weapons, counterfeit items, or anything that infringes another person's rights; harass, defraud, or threaten anyone; scrape or misrepresent the Service or other users; or attempt to gain unauthorized access. We rely on users to report problems and handle them fairly through moderation.

6. Content and personal data

You keep ownership of the content you post. You grant us a limited license to store, display, and process it to provide the Service, including matching it against saved searches. Personal data is processed in line with applicable law; see the help center for how to request a copy or deletion of your data.

7. Deal in person, at your own risk

The Service does not mediate, insure, or endorse transactions. Title, condition, and claims are matters solely between the buyer and seller. The Downsize Board is not liable for the actions of users, the quality of items, or any loss arising from a transaction arranged through the Service, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or ban accounts that violate these terms, and may discontinue or change the Service with reasonable notice.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. When changes are material, we'll show you a notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
